Use of Rotor in Research
Organizers: John Gough, Queensland University of Technology; Peter Drayton and Michal Cierniak, Microsoft

Rotor (also known as the Shared Source Common Language Implementation, SSCLI) has been available for over a year now and numerous research projects have been started with Rotor. Projects that have been awarded grants from Microsoft are summarized here. Other projects have been started both by academic researchers and industrial research labs.

The BoF at VM '04 is intended for sharing experiences from these projects. Members of the Rotor team will also be present both to answer questions related to the currently available version and to talk about the future plans for Rotor.

Given the nature of the VM '04 Symposium, we expect the focus on research but developers who use Rotor as a way to understand how CLR works will also benefit from participation and are invited to the BoF.
